White Oak lost its brightest spark on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with the passing of Beverly Ann (Yager) Moody, 73. Born March 30, 1952, in Braddock, she was the daughter of the late John Yager and the late Helen (Sulinchak) Yager.
She is now reunited with the love of her life, Thomas K. Moody, Jr., and her sisters, Patricia Kauffman and Dorothy Kurimski.
She is survived by her devoted children, Beth Ann (Ronnie) Mahofski of North Huntingdon and Tommy (Lena) Moody of Cortland, OH.
She was a proud and loving grandmother (aka “Mugga”) to Tanner and Olivia Mahofski and step-grandmother to Lilly and Sam. Also, survived by her brother Jack (Kathy) Yager and grandpuppy Roxi Blu along with many nieces and nephews.
Beverly’s life was defined by a rare blend of service and celebration. Whether she was working at East Pittsburgh American Legion Bingo, New Great Valley Lanes, North Versailles Public Library, or volunteering as the Friday cook for East Allegheny Meals on Wheels at Linway Church, she did everything with a genuine heart. While she enjoyed cooking, music, dancing, the beach, and cherished the time spent with her kids and grandkids, her favorite job was being the best wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother anyone could ever ask for.
She lived at The Oaks in White Oak for the past 5 years and everyone knew her as the unofficial social coordinator. At The Oaks, she planned movie nights, card and dice games, snow bingo, and birthday parties for the residents. Beverly was the life of the party, had a gift of gab, and most importantly, was the light of our lives.
Friends are welcome on Wednesday from 2-7 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800, where a Blessing Service will be held on Thursday at 11:30am.
Beverly will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please complete a random act of kindness in her name. She was known for her generous, genuine, and kind heart.
