Obituary of Beverly M. (Santacasa) Smith
A lifelong resident of Turtle Creek, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
Beverly was the beloved wife of Richard J. Smith, Sr. for 57 years.
She was the loving and devoted mother of Lisa Lee (Kurt) Flodine of Wilmerding and Richard J. (Emily) Smith, Jr. of Plum.
Beverly was the proud and cherished grandmother of Shane, Tanner, and Cameron Flodine; Noah, Elizabeth, Emma and Alec Smith; and the late Kyle and late Logan Flodine.
She was the sister of the late William (late Pat) Santacasa.
She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beverly was a 1959 graduate of Turtle Creek High School where she shined as a majorette.
She became a secretary and retired from Westinghouse Nuclear Center in Monroeville.
Beverly touched the lives of many with her loving and caring personality. Her smile and laughter brought joy to anyone in her company and fittingly had been a member of the Friendship Club in Monroeville. For a few years she became a master at crafting ceramics and she enjoyed visiting a casino.
Beverly was mostly pleased anytime she could spend time with her adored grandchildren. And those grandchildren adored her, too.
All are welcome on Sunday from 1-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350 where a Funeral service will be held on Monday at 12 noon.
Bev will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery
