Dear companion of James Harvey for 34 years, who was also a second father to Bernadette’s children, and second grandfather to her grandchildren.

Beloved mother of Jennifer (Scott) Zeigler of Harrison City, Eliza (Kevin) Malkos of N. Huntingdon, and Luigi (Tara) Fusco of N. Huntingdon.

Loving grandmother of Cade Malkos, Bella Cordray, Paiton Malkos, Gaby Fusco, Sophia Cordray, MaKenna Malkos, Beyley Malkos, Gia Zeigler, and Rhylee Fusco.

Also survived by loving nieces and a loving nephew, and her cherished friends, Tiny, Teresa, Georgeanne, Sue, and Adele.

Bernadette was a graduate of Westinghouse Memorial High School, and went on to earn a degree in liberal arts from Westmoreland County Community College.

Bernadette devoted 24 years of her career to Forbes Hospital before retiring in 2003.  Beginning as a transporter, she rose through various positions including managing the escort department, and working for both the O.R. as an anesthesiologist aide, and with the coding department.  She earned the respect of her coworkers and those she served through her steady work ethic, reliability, and compassionate nature. She took pride in her work and understood the importance of serving others with dignity and kindness.  Bernadette enjoyed trips to the casino and cooking meals for her family.  She was a devout Catholic and longtime member of both Immaculate Conception Church and St. Barbara Church.

Above all, Bernadette treasured spending time with her grandchildren. Her time with them brought her great happiness, and she cherished every moment shared with them.

Bernadette will forever be remembered for the way she made people feel. Her genuine nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
