Audrey Berkebile Obituary

Age 88, of Oakmont, formerly of Fox Chapel, passed away peacefully the morning of April 7, 2021 at Presbyterian SeniorCare The Willows with her beloved husband of 67 years Dr. Paul Ernest Berkebile by her side. Audrey was born on May 24, 1932 in Connellsville, PA.  She was the daughter of the late Harry B. Miller and Angeline (King) Miller.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Duane Miller and sisters Judith (Miller) Barr and Dolores (Miller) Dull and is survived by her sister Kay (Miller) Rumbaugh. Audrey was a devoted mother and is survived by her daughters, Susan (Berkebile) Trankocy, Deborah (Berkebile) Hermes, Dr. Brenda (Berkebile) Raphael, and Karen (Berkebile) Duffy. She was also the loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren, Randy Jones, Shannon (Jones) Dubensky, Caitlin Jones, Kyle Hermes, Sean Hermes, Haley Raphael, Heather Raphael, Jack Duffy, Tom Duffy, Luke Duffy, and Lauren Duffy.  She was further blessed with 8 great-grandchildren who delighted her with their presence even in her final days. She will be remembered as a strong advocate for her family in every way.   Audrey graduated from Scottdale Senior High School in 1950 with a passion for music. She loved playing alto saxophone in the Scotties high school marching band and orchestra and the County and District Bands. She also loved playing instrumental music and piano on Sundays at her house. Those who knew her in her late years commented on her quick wit, skillful puzzle making skills and playful personality. In her memory, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are welcome. Memorial service to be announced at a later date. Arrangements made by the Patrick T.
