Cherished and treasured grandfather of Crystal Palermo, Brittany (George) Costello; Anthony (Maura) Palermo, Matt (Loren) Palermo, Samantha (Jeremy) Baloga; Ilija, Nicolina and Ethan Jovanovich.
Precious great-grandfather of Ella, Vinnie and Annie Palermo; Mason and Damon Palermo; and Brody Baloga.
Dear brother of Ross (Loretta) Palermo, Rosemarie (late Mim) Catullo, the late Mike (late Betty) Palermo, late Carmella (late Frank) Cuda and the late Joe Palermo.
Anthony was a proud Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Upon his return home from his military service, he resumed his career in construction with the Angelo Nese Family contractors. After years of concrete work and brick laying, Anthony joined his wife as a hairdresser in her beauty shop in East Pittsburgh. At the redevelopment of the East Pittsburgh business district in the late 1960’s, Anthony and Nicki built their shop in the East Pittsburgh Plaza and operated their shop until retirement a few years ago. In retirement, Anthony continued his hairdressing skill as the hairdresser at Lanigan Funeral Home until 2015 when he became diagnosed with kidney disease. When families of deceased learned that the hairdresser was a former bricklayer and concrete man they sometimes were skeptical about his ability to properly care for hair. But with his expertise and skill, the results were always appreciated by those families.
