Anthony L. "Chuck" Nese

A lifelong resident of East Pittsburgh, age 88, on Sunday, August 3, 2014.

  Son of the late Ross and Tressa (Payne) Nese.

 Beloved husband of Dolores L (Baves) Nese for 61 years.

 Loving father of Karen (Joe) Hantz of North Huntingdon, Sylvia (Frank) Evanchec of North Versailles and Ross (Lisa) Nese of Murrysville.

 Grandfather of Allyson (Andre) Luketich and Jordan Hantz; Jared and Luke Evanchec;

Matthew and Scott Nese.

 Chuck is also survived by his first great-granddaughter, Sophia, who is due to be born in October.

 Brother of Robert (Dolores) Nese of FL, Ross (Carol) Nese, Jr. of Forest Hills, the late Rosemary “Sis” (late Joe) Lecce and the late Pete (surviving wife, Ann) Nese.

 Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

 Chuck served his country during WW II as a member of the Merchant Marines and also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He then served his community of East Pittsburgh retiring after a 20 year career as a police officer. He was a member of the F.O.P., Lodge #91, the East Pittsburgh V.F.W. Post # 5008 and the former East Pittsburgh  Slovak Social Club. Chuck was also a professional carpenter and remodeler. He was a passionate fan of Penn State Football and the Pittsburgh Steelers and especially enjoyed playing golf.

 Friends welcome Tuesday 6-8pm and Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh 412-824-8800.

 Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church of Good Shepherd Parish on Thursday at 10 a.m.

 Entombment with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

 Chuck’s family extends sincere gratitude to Lisa, Tara and Eva of Grane Hospice for their compassionate and devoted care toward Chuck.
