Of Forest Hills, formerly of Wilkinsburg and Folsom, PA, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, surrounded by her family members. She was born on February 9th, 1935. She is the daughter of the late Roger J. and Mary M. (Lydon) Mularkey, from County Mayo, Ireland. Ann was an active member of St. James Church for over 50 years as a Lector, Extra -ordinary Eucharistic Minister, Cantor and choir member. She volunteered at the Toy Lending Library; St. James Paper/Food Bank and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed working as an election poll worker and later served as Judge of Elections.
Ann was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, VFW # 928, Folsom, PA., Catholic Daughter of America Westinghouse Chapter; Churchill AARP Chapter, Forest Hills/ Swissvale Senior Center; National Pastoral Musicians; the Diocesan Choir, even traveling with them to Italy to sing for Pope John Paul II in Rome; and the Cursillo Catholic Movement. She worked at the Delaware County Blind Association; A school crossing guard in Folsom, PA Pittsburgh Diocesan office; and was a Child Care Provider “Nanny” for over 30 years. Ann enjoyed bowling on a league, playing cards; baking for others (her famous Fudge and Buckeye and especially her Irish Bread); calling Bingo at Centurion Commons where she resided and enjoyed traveling to many countries. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and made several trips to Ireland visiting her relatives.
She is survived by her children, Rita ( Dennis) Haynes, James Roger (Cheryl) Bentley, Linda (John) Mullarkey, daughter-in-law Kathleen Bentley; her grandchildren, Joseph McConnell and Will McConnell; Sheila McConaghy, William Bentley; Andrew Bentley, Zachary Bentley and Becca Heimsoth; Christine Bentley, Annmarie (Re) Grisafi, Jennifer Bentley, Danielle Bentley, William H. Bentley and Holly Bentley, Jessica Sewell, Lisa Davis; John J. Mullarkey, Robert Mullarkey and Sarah Hugus. She had 29 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren.
Ann was preceded in death by her sons, Robert “Bobby” Bentley, Russell Bentley, William H. Bentley; grandson, Patrick McConnell; sister, Mary F Hickey, daughter-in-law Robin Bentley and Ann's former husband, James R. Bentley.
Viewing will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 2-5 & 6-8 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. in St James Church of St. Mary Magdelene Parish, 718 Franklin Ave., Wilkinsburg, PA 15221. Ann will be laid to rest in All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Mary Magdelene Catholic Parish at 509 Dallas Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15208.
