Angela “Angie” Trapani
Formerly of Lawrenceville, age 89, joined her family in heaven on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021.
Before Angie was born, her family immigrated to America in February 1926. They returned to Italy for a period, where she was born to Salvatore and Domencia Maria (Battaglia) in Palermo Italy in September of 1931. After Angie was born, her family immigrated back to America in 1935 on the P.fo Rex and settled in the Lawrenceville/Bloomfield area. Although she never married, she was always surrounded by a family that loved her and cared for her.
Angie is preceded in death by each of her siblings, Salvatore “Sam”, Antonio “Tony”, Giuseppe “Joe”, and Eugene Trapani, and Marina “Mary” Mosco, and Francesca “Frances” Ricci. Of her siblings, she had a special relationship with her sister Frances. Angie lived with her sister Frances, and Frances’ husband Tony, and their children. She was a fixture of the family as a special aunt to Frances’ children.
Angie was the loving aunt of Glenn (Susan) Ricci of Florida, Anna Marie (Alan) Lukas of Forest Hills, Geno (Karen) Ricci of Forest Hills, and Joan (Rich) Vuljanic of Stowe Twp.; She is survived by many other nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Angie was a fairly quiet and private woman, but she was a true lady of class and grace. She showed sweetness through and through and was stronger than anyone gave her credit for. Outside of her family life, she did enjoy going downtown to shop in her younger years. Before she retired, she spent her career as a secretary at Hudson Furniture in Butler, and in various administrative assistant roles at St. Francis Medical Center in Lawrenceville.
Angie’s family would like to thank the staff of Kane Regional McKeesport for their dedication and care to Angie over the last few years of her life.
