A lifelong resident of North Braddock, age 64, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
Amy was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and late Valeria (Baltrus) Gefert.
She is survived by her 3 cherished brothers: Mark (Patricia) Gefert of NC, Jan (Jennifer) Gefert of Erie and Brian Gefert of North Braddock.
Amy was also the dear aunt of Sterrin (Frank) Kraska, Valerie (Bo) Younts, Marcus (Erica) Gefert, Jansen (Marika) Gefert and Jadis Gefert.
Amy was a 1978 graduate of General Braddock High School. She became a Histo-Technician with Quest Diagnostics and carved out a successful career for many years with Quest. A favorite pastime for Amy was travelling to Erie to fish the waters of Lake Erie. She was quite adept at catching Walleye and Perch and often out-fished the men on the boat. Amy adored and cared for her pet bird, ‘Poppy’, a Sun Conure.
There will not be a viewing or visitation at this time. A Memorial Service will be held in the near future.
