Of Pitcairn, formerly of North Versailles, age 92, reposed in the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2014. She was the daughter of the late George and Helen Popovich. Helen was the wife of the late Charles Grysiak for 45 years and beloved mother of Deborah of Penn Hills and Gary (Janet) of Monroeville. She was the dear "Grammy" to Benjamin, Luke, and Irene Grysiak, along with being an aunt to several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her dear brothers, George and John Popovich. Helen was a pious and faithful parishoner of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church of East Pittsburgh, where she was very active, especially for nutroll baking and pirohi making! Helen was a skilled baker, cook, seamstress, and recently enjoyed crocheting rescue and lap blankets with her friends at the Broadview Manor in Pitcairn. The family would especially thank those friends at Broadview who befriended and watched out for her, especially her dearest friend Beatrice Stagon. In addition, we are also grateful for the love and compassion shown to her by the Sandusky, and Wlahofsky families, especially the late John & Millie Reiland. Friends will be received at the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home, 700 Linden Avenue at Cable, East Pittsburgh, 412-824-8800, on Thrusday from 2-8 PM, where a Funeral Service will be prayed at 7 PM. A Funeral Divine Liturgy will be served on Friday at 10 AM at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 211 Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh, with interment at William Penn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 211 Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112.
