Robert I. Skrbin of Wilkins Twp, age 80, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2009.
Robert was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran who served as a member of the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery and in various ceremonial events in Washington, D.C. including President Eisenhower's Inauguration. Bob was a 60 year member with the Wilkins Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. #3. He as a member of the Wilkins Twp. VFW #6681, a member of the C.F.U. Lodge #141 and the Past President of the Junior Cultural Federation of the C.F.U.
Beloved husband of Barbara A. (Berklich) Skrbin of 29 years; father of Aaron Skrbin (Regina) of Mt. Lebanon; uncle of Janet and George Marton. He was preceded in death by sisters, Emma Skrbin and Caroline (George) Marton.
Friends will be welcome Monday 6-8p.m. and Tuesday 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. in the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home, 700 Linden Ave., East Pittsburgh, 412-824-8800. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday in St. Maurice Church at 10a.m. Military honors will follow at Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
