Music by The Piano Brothers

Of Level Green, age 73, on Friday, March 13, 2015.

Beloved husband of Carla (Coconcelli) Hilf and the late Antoinette (Tucci) Hilf who died in 2004.

Loving father of Mary (Shawn) Stebleton of Monroeville and R. Philip (Elena) Hilf of Forest Hills.

Proud grandfather of Jacob and Isaac Stebleton; Madeline and Henry Hilf.

Bob was a Financial Advisor with Waddell & Reed, retiring in 2010 with 31 years of service. Upon retirement, he returned to the career of his first love, teaching, composing and playing music. Bob was a graduate of Duquesne University, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Masters of Music. Bob was a church musician for 30 years at various churches in the Pittsburgh Diocese. For eight years, earlier in his career,  he served as Director of Music, Liturgy and Choral Activities at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg. In recent years, Bob  taught music at his Penn Township studio.

Bob also played for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1968-1969 season - played organ that is!!!  During one game there was a bad call by the referees and he started playing "Three Blind Mice!"  Bob almost got a penalty for that one!  He only stopped being the organist for the Penguins because the Pittsburgh Diocese started doing Saturday evening Masses and it was too difficult to get a substitute organist for the Masses on the Saturday evenings when a hockey game scheduled.

Friends welcome Sunday from 4-7pm and Monday 2-4 & 6-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home, Turtle Creek/Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave. at James St., Turtle Creek 412-823-9350.

Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barbara Church, Harrison City, on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

Bob will be laid to rest at William Penn Cemetery in Churchill.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forbes Hospice, 4800 Friendship Ave., Pgh., Pa. 15224
