Kathleen Kozusko Obituary

Of Monroeville, age 71, died on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Kathleen was born on August 3, 1952, daughter of the late Peter and Mary Jean (Whalen) Mantia.

She was the beloved wife to the late Joseph C. “Skip” Kozusko for over 40 years.

Kathleen was the loving and caring mother of Kristen (Doug) Knox of FL, Joseph A. Kozusko of Monroeville, and Kaitlyn (Steven) Heisel of Monroeville.

Adored grandmother of Alyssa Knox and cherished granmama of George Joseph Heisel.

Dear sister of Renee (Larry) Dettore and the late Mary Jean (Lee) Sparkman.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was a proud graduate of North Braddock Scott High School. She dedicated herself to a career of service and creativity. She spent the majority of her years as a homemaker, a role she treasured and in which she excelled, creating a warm and inviting home for her family. Additionally, her work at Kohls in customer service allowed her to connect with and support her community. Kathleen also expressed her artistic side through her work as a florist and a jeweler. Kathleen's interests reflected her love for the natural world and her nurturing spirit. She was an avid gardener, taking immense pleasure in the cultivation of her flowers and the serenity of her garden. Her affection for animals was evident to all who knew her, as she welcomed creatures great and small into her life with open arms. Her humor was infectious, and she had a unique ability to bring out laughter in any room she entered. Above all, Kathleen's greatest joy was found in the company of her grandchildren. The deep love Kathleen had for her family was mirrored by the deep love they had for her. She was the heart of family gatherings, the voice of reason during trying times, and the comforting presence in moments of need. Her family was her world, and she was theirs. Kathleen's legacy is one of love, care, and the beautiful simplicity of a life well-lived.

There will be a Memorial Service at a later date.
